Atty. Dilsat Yaz Alibasoglu
Partner
Attorney D. Yaz Alibaşoğlu is a qualified lawyer with expertise in maritime and insurance law, yacht and boat transactions, international commercial contracts, international private law, and legal technology (LegalTech). She provides legal services both in Turkey and in international legal markets.
She successfully completed the Maritime and Insurance Law Summer Program at Tulane University (New Orleans, USA) and further undertook Public Maritime Law training at the University of Genoa (Genoa, Italy). She has been involved in legal consultancy and arbitration proceedings before the German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA) and the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), and is a registered member of GMAA. She has completed GAFTA (Grain and Feed Trade Association) professional training and presented on insurance law at the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER, Athens, Greece) in the summer of 2024. Her paper titled “Direct Action Against P&I Insurers in Cross-Border Disputes” has been accepted for presentation at International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators (ICMA XXIII), Singapore 2026.
She offers legal services in Turkish, English, and German.

Atty. Cengiz Bora Çağlar

Attorney Cengiz Bora Çağlar is a lawyer specialized in maritime trade and transportation law. He also has experience in tax law and consumer law.
Within the maritime sector, he integrates his legal practice with the practical dynamics of the industry through his experience and professional network in ship agency services, ship operations, and shipowning activities. He completed Ship Broking training at Piri Reis University and undertook a Ship Broking internship at Marvel Shipping. During his academic years, he also interned at various ship agencies and gained experience in operational and management processes within owner’s agencies.
For over five years, he has been working voluntarily in the field of consumer law, contributing to the protection of individual rights.
In addition to Turkish, he provides legal services in fluent, professional-level English.

Atty. Berrin Tan

Berrin completed her legal education at Istanbul Commerce University and her legal internship at a law firm advising shipowners and charterers. She subsequently worked as a legal consultant, focusing on contract drafting and maritime law.
Following a visit to the Port of Hamburg, which deepened her interest in the maritime world, Berrin moved to Hamburg to pursue a Master of Law and Business (MLB) at Bucerius Law School. During her postgraduate studies, she wrote her master’s thesis on insurance-related legal issues in supply chain transactions and gained practical experience in the insurance department of a leading freight forwarding company in Hamburg.
Prior to joining Yaz Legal Studio, Berrin worked at a specialist yacht law firm in Hamburg, where she further developed her expertise in contract management and maritime law. Drawing on her legal background, experience in maritime and contract law, and over ten years of sailing experience, she provides solution-focused advice on contractual matters and the legal aspects of commercial and maritime transactions.
She advises clients in Turkish, English, and German.

İlknur Özçetin

Throughout her 20-year professional career, İlknur Özçetin has gained extensive experience in establishing and developing Human Resources systems across various sectors, from start-ups to corporate organizations. Her background in sales leadership enables her to evaluate Human Resources processes from different perspectives and to take a holistic approach to the relationship between people, organizations, and business objectives.
At Yaz Legal Studio, she focuses on structuring Human Resources processes in alignment with the law firm’s strategic objectives and workplace culture, enhancing the employee experience, and contributing to the development of a sustainable organizational culture.
